Christmas at Luther 2012
On Saturday, December 1, 2012 the Book Shop hosted author Patrick Mader for a book signing from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Mader will sign copies of his children's books, Opa and Oma Together, Oma Finds a Miracle, Big Brother Has Wheels as well as his newest Christmas release, Visiting the Visitors.
Visiting the Visitors tells how three children and their grandparents set out on a path to deliver gifts on Christmas Eve. On the journey they stop along the way to thank the visitors from centuries ago that paid tribute to the newborn babe.
Mader is an elementary teacher living in Northfield, Minnesota with his wife and two children. He enjoys reading, traveling, outdoor activities with friends and family and presenting programs to any interested group. The holidays have a magical spirit to him.
From 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Luther College senior, Kristina Nienhaus signed copies of her children's book, Made of Love, a book that sends a message to all children that they are forever loved by God.
Cheryl Kirking signed books on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Her titles include Evangeline! the Dancing Holstein, What Can I Give Jesus and All is Calm, All is Bright. The latest release, Evangeline, depicts the lives of farm livestock behind barn doors, in a particular, a sassy, dancing cow named Evangeline. The book includes a CD with two songs written and performed by Kirking.
