Peep Diorama Contest 2012
Another PEEPtacular day was celebrated in the Book Shop on Friday, March 30. Visitors were invited to vote for their favorite Peep Diorama and well over 300 votes were cast.
The 5th annual Peep Diorama Contest was featured on several news sites including KWWL TV, Waterloo, Iowa and decorahnews.com. Creativity was as thick as marshmallow cream and the competition was as stiff as a stale Peep.
The following winners were announced:
- 1st place: Luther College Well(nest) Peep Center, a representation of the campus wellness effort, made by the Office of Financial Services
- 2nd place: Peep Power, with an actual spinning wind turbine generating power by Peeps on treadmills, made by the Registrar's Office
- 3rd place: Ides of March, a creation with Peep characters, made by Philip Freeman and the Classics Department
Marshmallow treats and punch were served and customers played bean bag toss (with bean bags in the shape of Peeps, of course) for a discount.
Thank you to everyone who made a diorama or just helped us celebrate everything Peeps. It was a great day!
