[Joseph Breitenstein]I am a licensed clinical psychologist and conduct assessments of child abuse/neglect, veterans’ issues, and psychiatric disabilities, often in forensic settings.
General Professional Philosophy
Whether I only have contact with a student in General Psychology or work closely with him or her for four years, I want all of my students to appreciate psychology as a practical science that promotes self-awareness and good citizenship by aiding the disadvantaged.
When I’m not spending time with my three teen-aged daughters, I am usually engaged in silent sports like hiking, snowshoeing, cycling, canoeing, and swimming. I particularly enjoy exploring natural areas in my home state of Wisconsin, preferably in my vintage wood and canvas canoe.
I research psychological adjustment to college, computerized genograms and reducing stigmatization of mental illness.
