Umoja is a Midwestern colleges’ conference that convenes students of African, African-Caribbean and African American descent to discuss issues of the modern African Diaspora. Wintlett Taylor-Browne and the Umoja Planning Committee did an excellent job with the conference held on April 6. I spoke at the Opening Plenary. As a way of thanking Umoja, congratulating our graduates, and challenging those who will return to Luther next year, my last Synergy article will draw on the themes I shared in my speech. Touchpoints Drawing for Ipad Winner
Touchpoints is a new program started at the beginning of this year Luther's Diversity Center. It aims to provide a fun, informational session or workshop to add to your toolbox for success at Luther and in the wider world. It’s that time of year again. With mixed emotions, we receive lists of prospective students from International Admissions, and the list of graduates from the Registrar’s office. It’s exciting to see the names and countries of the new students who are likely to come here, but we’re saddened to see students leave, as they graduate and move on with their lives. Read more...
