Work Study Positions for 2012-2013

Worship Volunteer Coordinator –2-3 hours per week
Coordinate ushers and communion servers for Sunday morning worship.  Duties: Inviting and recruiting people to serve as ushers and servers.  Sending reminder emails.  Arriving an hour before Sunday worship to prepare for worship.  Training and preparing ushers and communion servers.  Meeting with Pastor occasionally to review usher and server duties and needed.


Sacristan - 3-5 hours per week

The role of the Sacristans is to prepare for worship services and to help create an atmosphere that fosters worship for the community.  The Sacristans work with the campus pastors in preparing for communion services on Sunday mornings, Wednesday night, and other special occasions.  They serve in conjunction with other workers, such as Liturgical Arts, Deacon of Worship and musicians, to help provide a fulfilling worship experience for the congregation.  The ministry of hospitality is of particular importance in worship as we extend an invitation to Christ’s table as a sign of God’s unconditional love.


Wednesday Eucharist Coordinator - 3-5 hours per week
Works with Pastor and Eucharist Team to plan music, liturgy, and hospitality for weekly Eucharist services.  Eucharist Team also plans Christmas Candlelight Service; recruits cantors, instrumentalists, and special music participants; rehearses and prepares a variety of students to lead worship through music and song.


Data Updates and Processing Coordinator - 5-6 hours per week
Keeping database records current with church addresses and pastor information using multiple resources. Entering information and printing thank you letters to churches and notes to students regarding financial support received.
