Carol Hester is the Associate Professor of Flute at Luther College where she teaches applied flute and the flute portion of Woodwind Techniques. She has degrees from the Florida State University (MM, DM, flute performance) and from Samford University (BM, flute and piano performance). Chamber and symphonic experience during her time in the Midwest has included membership in the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra (principal flute, 1992‐2002), the Trio/Quartet Inégal (flute, oboe, clarinet, and piano), the Northeast Iowa Chamber winds (woodwind quintet), the Hester Duo/Trio (flute, guitar, and mandolin), the Luther College Flute/Harp Duo, and the Talus Trio (flute, clarinet, and oboe).
Hester sustains a private flute and piano studio, enjoys instructing children in music, and serves as pianist and Director of Music at her church. She is also the author of the textbook, Teaching the Flute—a Method of Instruction.
