Shirley Baker Commons serves as the gathering space for students and college guests in Baker Village. Designed to evoke themes found in the Ashmore-Jewell barn located near Baker Village, the Commons has a maximum capacity of 75.

Adjacent to the main lounge are bathrooms and a small staging kitchen with an exterior door for access by the college´s catering services. In addition, the upper level contains a large stone fireplace and a covered porch overlooking the prairie. The lower-level contains the laundry facilities for students living in the village. Eventually, the lower-level will be finished to include a staff office, TV lounge, meeting room, and storage space.
