No matter the weather conditions, recyclers make daily rounds to residence halls and academic building to collect recyclables, redeemables, and compost.
Recyclables, such as paper, plastic, metal, and carboard, are dropped off at a Winneshiek County Recycling collection site by facilities. Redeemables are kept in the garage of the sustainability house until sorted and collected. Collected compost is added to the Luther compost pile, to later be used as fertilizer for the Luther Gardens.
Recyclers for 2012-2013
is a sophomore Political Science and International Studies major who comes from Minneapolis Minnesota. He is involved in a grab-bag of activities around campus, some of his favorites being an RA for Res Life, playing ultimate for LUFDA, and helping SAC with Homecoming. Coming from Minneapolis, he has gained a great appreciation for the green movement and what it means to truly live sustainably. After getting to Luther and finding out how easy it was to get involved in the sustainability movement, recycling seemed like the next best step!
