Project Managers take on a variety of projects, from website management and marketing to implementing sustainability initiatives such as Green Room Certification, the Bargain Barn, Trash to Treasure, and much more.

Vivek BisenVivek Bisen
Vivek Bisen is a senior majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. He is from a small town of Waraseoni in the central part of India. He studied in a United World College which was on top of a hill among the villages near Pune, India. He grew up with a habit of reducing garbage as it was the norm in his surroundings. He likes being around people and making lots of friends. He likes hiking on mountains and enjoys summer rains a lot.


Emily DuffordEmily Dufford
Emily Dufford is a first year student from Stockton, Illinois and plans to major in Environmental Studies.  Emily enjoys spending lots of time outside, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, running, backpacking, and much more!  When she has free time, Emily likes to read and hang out with her friends.  She is looking forward to a great year working in Sustainability!

Maddie FordMaddie Ford
Maddie Ford is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies and French.  She plays the clarinet in Wind and Percussion Program at Luther and plays the piano for fun.    She is a member of Luther's Environmental Concerns Organization (ECO), along with working for the Sustainability Office, and she lives in the Sustainability House. She grew up in Iowa City in a very environmentally conscious family where she learned from a young age to appreciate the environment and embrace a sustainable lifestyle. She enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, skiing/snowboarding, swimming, biking, running, hiking, and camping.  She also loves baking and cooking, especially with local foods.

"Working in sustainability gives me the opportunity to work with others on behavior change that will help us protect our planet.  It gives me the opportunity to inspire others to work towards a more sustainable future."


Calla OlsonCalla Olson
Calla Olson is a junior who has worked in sustainability since her first year at Luther.  In the past she has been involved with on-campus waste reduction, STARS and other sustainability rating systems, and several new sustainable initiatives, such as the installation of a green roof on Sampson-Hoffland.  She is majoring in Biology and Music, and in her free time enjoys practicing her clarinet, biking, running, tree-climbing, and dreaming about new ways to achieve a sustainable lifestyle.  After graduation she is thinking of joining the Peace Corps for a year or two, and also hopes to attend grad school for Restoration Ecology. 


Kalyn RoisumKalyn Roisum
Kalyn Roisum is a sophomore at Luther College from Stoughton, Wisconsin who plans on becoming and Environmental Studies major with a potential Spanish minor. Out of all the seasons, she enjoys winter most because of its cold weather and heaps of snow.  When she isn’t busy helping with Marketing in Sustainability, Kalyn spends her time reading novels, sleeping, or hanging out with friends. She really enjoys nature and playing softball when the weather is nice. In the future, she plans to live somewhere with plenty of snow covered mountains where she can help change the world.

Rachel SelvigRachel Selvig
*Rachel Selvig is a Junior Anthropology and History double major with a music minor from St. Michael, MN.  She enjoys singing, lounging around in the outdoors, and learning about ancient civilizations.  She plans on pursuing a career in foreign relations, helping to represent others who may not have a voice.  She hopes to spend significant time traveling, particularly in Africa.

"Even a small action done by many can become a big action.  I love to see and be a part of people coming together on a sustainability effort."


Jamie StallmanJamie Stallman
Jamie Stallman is a junior from Fargo, ND. He is a Religion major and a Chemistry minor. He hopes to end up in the medical field with an emphasis on organizations such as Doctors without Borders. He loves being outside in general, but especially likes backpacking, biking, and skiing (both water and alpine). He spent eight weeks backpacking in Europe this past summer with German friends and the rest of the summer working on a farm and at the cabin in northern Minnesota. This is his third year working with Sustainability and is looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish this year!
