WIYLDE 2011 will be held on the Luther College campus beginning on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Open to students of ELCA congregations in grades 9-12.

First year participants (WIYLDE 1) will register Monday, July 25 at noon. Returning participants (Too WIYLDE and Extreme WIYLDE, parts 1 & 2) will register Sunday, July 24 at noon. This will allow an extra day for WIYLDE 2s (W-2s) and Extreme WIYLDE (W-3s and W-4s) to prepare Bible studies and for other leadership roles. The last day of WIYLDE is Friday, July 29.

Continuing in 2011! Participants may return for a 4th year. They will take an even larger role in worship leadership as well as receive individualized mentoring from staff.

Registration fee for 2011 is $295. Check with your synod LYO and church for scholarships. Registration deadline is July 8, 2011 or when full. Registration will be limited to 60 students. A general printable registration form is available. Please note that first year participants arrive one day later than returning participants.

Northeastern Iowa Synod offers a $50 campership for students from churches in the Northeastern Iowa Synod. You may download and return with registration form.

What is WIYLDE? WIYLDE (Wholly Iowa Youth Leadership and Discipling Event) is designed for youth, grades 9-12 of any ELCA congregation in Iowa. It is a youth ministry leadership workshop with opportunities for young people to grow in their own faith and take tools back to their home congregations to provide leadership in the youth ministry program. Each participant will learn:

• How to help plan and lead worship
• How to lead a Bible study
• Where to find youth ministry materials
• How to help organize youth events

Students may participate for 4 years, building on their leadership skills each year.
